VIA| This “bullet attachment” almost looks like a child’s toy, but there’s nothing safe about it.
It’s considered “less lethal” ammunition much like a bean-bag or riot slug but it can be fired from a handgun.
Other “less lethal” ammunition requires the officer to load a different type of ammunition into their firearm, but this attachment actually works with the existing rounds.
The officer simply attaches the round to the front of their handgun and fires their standard load.
The bulb catches the bullet and acts like an airbag. Instead of a lethal shot, the offender is hit with the equivalent of a hammer swung by a major league ball player.
Once the shot has been fired, the officer’s firearm is returned to standard operation allowing the officer to take lethal force immediately if necessary.
This weapon is not 100% safe, and could cause a fatality, but the risk of death is greatly reduced.
