ELDER PATRIOT – Hillary Clinton promised a major foreign policy speech last Thursday. It was anything but that. In the time honored and lawyerly tradition of pounding the table when the facts are aligned against you she instead sought to eviscerate Donald Trump with an ad hominem attack that was more applicable to her than the man she is chasing to become president.
“I’ve offered clear strategies for how to defeat ISIS, strengthen our alliances, and make sure Iran never gets a nuclear weapon,” Clinton said. This flies in the face of her record as Secretary of State when she funded the growth of ISIS, was the architect of an immeasurably less stable Middle East that exists today, and signed on to the Iranian Nuclear Agreement that, the Obama Administration now admits it lied about in order to get it passed by Congress. The result is Iran will likely have nuclear weapons capability with the next decade.
“And I’m going to keep America’s security at the heart of my campaign,” she promised even as her email scandal widened to show she had exposed our foreign intelligence assets and top secret documents in direct violation of the Espionage Act that she was obligated by law to abide by.
“He is not just unprepared – he is temperamentally unfit to hold an office that requires knowledge, stability and immense responsibility,” Mrs. Clinton ranted. Mrs. Clinton simply dismissed the personal war that she waged against the women that Bill Clinton found more desirable than her as making her temperamentally unfit for the office that she seeks.
“This is not someone who should ever have the nuclear codes,” she continued, convinced perhaps that they would be better stored on her personal server.
“He called our military a disaster,” Clinton continued her criticism of Trump; as though that statement was something that military leaders would not agree with.
Mrs. Clinton railed on, “I have some experience with the tough calls and the hard work of statecraft. I wrestled with the Chinese over a climate deal in Copenhagen, brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, negotiated the reduction of nuclear weapons with Russia, twisted arms to bring the world together in global sanctions against Iran, and stood up for the rights of women, religious minorities and LGBT people around the world.”
The climate deal she is so proud of is another nail in our economy’s coffin handcuffing further behind the economy of the Chinese. There is no ceasefire between Hamas and Israel of any consequence, only a wall that the Israelis erected to protect themselves, that has proven effective at saving the lives of innocent Israelis. As Secretary of State she voiced her disagreement with the construction of that wall, just as she now dismisses the erection of a wall to protect our southern border and those who live along it.
Anyone who believes Russia has reduced its nuclear capabilities after engaging in talks with Hillary must’ve drank the Kool-Aid. Clinton ignored touting her own weakness that has led to the Russian saber rattling in the Ukraine and throughout Eastern Europe and that has all of our European allies less confident in the U.S.
Apparently her view of “twisting arms” to bring “global sanctions against Iran” was to provide a path to a nuclearized Iranian military and giving Iran hundreds of billions of dollars with which to fund their worldwide terror campaign.
When it comes to standing up for women’s rights, Madeleine Albright summed it up best when she railed, “There is a special place in hell reserved for Mrs. Clinton.”
When it comes to her claim that she “stood up for the rights of religious minorities and the LGBT people around the world” one is forced to ask how that squares with her unwillingness to brand the source of the worldwide terror campaign against these Christians and gays as stemming from the beliefs of radical Islamists who publicly execute those people she claims to defend for who they are and what they believe.
Her lockstep agreement with Barack Obama to open our country to unvetted Muslim immigrants while professing her desire to protect women, religious minorities and gays makes her guilty of her own accusation that “Trump’s ideas aren’t just different – they are dangerously incoherent. They’re not even really ideas – just a series of bizarre rants, personal feuds, and outright lies.”
“And I have, I have sat in the Situation Room and advised the President on some of the toughest choices he faced,” said Mrs. Clinton hopeful that few will remember that she went home to sleep on the night during her tenure as Secretary of State when she left our Ambassador and other Americans die in Benghazi rather than stay awake and attempt to save them.
“So I’m not new to this work. And I’m proud to run on my record, because I think the choice before the American people in this election is clear,” said Mrs. Clinton counting on the short memories of her liberal followers.
No, she’s not new to this work. Unfortunately for her after twenty-four years in Washington she still cannot point to a single accomplishment of significance that she can claim as her own. The choice for the American people is clear Mrs. Clinton’s record disqualifies her in every conceivable way to be our next president. Her own words confirm as much.
